Home on the Range

This past weekend we made the short hike up to China Spring for a celebration. My aunt (dad's sister) and uncle are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year, so the family held a reception in their honor. The big tent was pitched, as usual, professional caterer Patti cooked up a mouthwatering feast, including the most amazing strawberry cake you can get your mouth on. The kids played up a storm on the trampoline, swingset, and treehouse, and later, Uncle Pat loaded us all up on the trailer to help him go feed the cows. Our little guy was all over it, so much so that he tried to climb out of the trailer so that he cold get even more up close and personal to the giant, hungry beasts. It was a wonderful day of family, old friends, delicious food, and fun out on the ranch. We're so lucky to have such wonderful examples of strong, loving marriages in our family, and it was an honor to celebrate with some of them.

Of course we couldn't leave the ranch without dropping in on my beloved Mama T and Buffy dog for a quick snuggle or two.
