Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. Sure Augie's still not quite old enough to 'get it', but he thoroughly enjoyed himself in each of the individual activities. We began the weekend relaxing around the house working on a last minute costume switch, baking pumpkin bread, carving pumpkins, and just causing  typical weekend mayhem.

Coincidentally the humidifier added an interactive touch to the holiday decor

Then there was some lounging around in daddy's hoody

While Kevin displayed his mad carving skills

Then on Monday it was time to get our serious halloween face on!

You didn't think we would send our scarecrow out without a photo shoot did you?

We attended a fun costume party with some of our swim lesson friends

And then we rushed home to go trick or treating with a neighborhood buddy.

And then Kevin got to introduce him to the fun task of sorting the loot. Though all he really wanted to do was chew on his pencil eraser.

All in all, August really got into the events of the evening. We couldn't have asked for a better behaved, more joyful toddler. As a matter of fact, he was so enthusiastic that if we were too slow, he would take off down the sidewalk, knock on the door, and help himself to a bowl full of candy... or just help other kids fill their bags with candy. And he would definitely let us know if we walked by a house that he thought we should have stopped. None of the scary decorations or costumes even phased him, he was just happy to be out and about on raising a ruckus on the streets.
