Packing on the...Ounces

It seems that little man has finally figured out the whole eating=growing link. He had a fabulous weigh-in last week, and is up to a hefty 7 lbs 11oz! He's also grown 3/4" since birth, and we've both noticed his head, feet, and hands being larger as well. We're happy to see the improvements and even happier to not have to go back in every week!

This week's appointment did bring on what we're sure will be the first of many exercises in keeping our parental calm during a potentially stressful day. It seems that though August is the spitting image of his dad, his health is beginning to echo that of his mom's. After a visit to his pediatrician, who sent him straight to a surgeon, who sent him for his first ultrasound...August is the proud owner of a healthy lymph node on his tummy. We just consider the little beebee on his abdomen to be his birthmark, albeit quite the anomaly that none of the professionals have seen before. That's our boy!

While we have never been the type to take our healthy pregnancy and newborn for granted, our day spent at the local pediatric facility reminded us just how blessed we truly are. And we will continue to pray that it stays that way for a while longer.
