Happy Groundhog Day!

Looks like cuddly little Punxsutawney Phil woke up this morning to find his shadow. What does that mean for us? Perhaps we'll be enjoying six more weeks of  this balmy 70 degree weather.
We happen to really enjoy Groundhog Day in the Gupton house, though only one of us enjoys the movie. And we secretly hoped that August would be born on the big day. But it works out as Augie has his own day that's not overshadowed by Phil.

Two Years

How can it be? Baby Augie has been the center of our universe for two years already? After his first 365 days, we couldn't imagine that life could get much sweeter. But here we are another year later, and we have been proven wrong day after day. This past year has been nothing more than an absolute joy.  We feel so incredibly blessed to be able to witness this beautiful little person blossom from a baby to a toddler right before our eyes. Each day holds a new discovery, a new awareness, and a new way of communicating in his ever-burgeoning little world. We can't wait to see what this next year has in store for our curious, hilarious, lovable, intelligent little monster. And we pray for many, many years to come.

Play date

Augie has quite the not-so-secret admirer in his class this year. Rumor has it that she wakes up first thing in the morning talking about Augie, rejoices when she sees him in class, and even names her art projects after her beloved Augie. So when her mom asked if we would be interested in a play date, that was one request we knew that we couldn't turn down. 

The two toddlers had a wonderful time of playing, hugging, sliding, swinging, and snacking. So much fun was had by all that the sweet little hostess couldn't muster the energy to say awake long enough to wish her beloved Augie goodbye.

Weekend

August is one happy little boy. After a couple of busy weeks of off and on travel, he had his Papa all to himself this weekend. And what a playful weekend it was. 

Oh Brolly

August received a Little People airport from Santa Clause this past Christmas. Though he hasn't quite shown much interest in playing with his 'sets' of toys yet, he has definitely grown attached to one particular accessory. The poor little miniature umbrella has yet to assume it's duty at the picnic table for more than a few minutes at a time. From the minute August discovered that it was removable, it has been his faithful little companion inside and out. Because as we all know, it's best to always be prepared.

We were both a little spoiled with all of the snuggles this past week. I'm glad he's finally on the mend, but I'm not in a hurry for the sweet cuddling to go away.
