Rain Cancellation

Periodically over the past few years, Kevin's boss has generously offered us his tickets to the Round Rock Express baseball games. When he offered Kevin a few tickets for last Sunday's game, we happily accepted with the vision of a fun family outing complete with ballpark hot dogs and nachos. Though there had been torrential rains every evening of the weekend, we still drove up to Round Rock with umbrellas and rain coats in hand, hoping to catch the soggy game. Approximately five minutes after we entered through the gates, the officials announced that they had decided to cancel the evenings game. Thankfully August is still a bit too young to remember what is really involved in a baseball game, as he was more than entertained to look out at the field, count the flags, read the signs, and gawk at the big lights. As a matter of fact, he answered our question of whether he enjoyed the baseball game with a very enthusiastic 'yes!'.
Kevin and I really couldn't complain about the cancellation either, as we are more than thankful for the abnormal rain and cooler temperatures of late. So we decided to make the best of our rainy evening up north, and grab some oh-so-delicious custard, hot dog, and fries. After sampling our custard sundaes, and fries with ketchup, I don't think August was remotely phased by our backup plan either. It became quite the unplanned, yet enjoyable family fun night.
