We got up early on Wednesday morning and drove out to College Station to spend the holiday with some of our favorite people. It was such a wonderfully relaxing day filled with fun and food. There were of course hot dogs, turkey burgers, and endless amounts of fruit and chips, but the Uncle Sam cake paired with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream definitely stole the show. Of course not to be out done by the food, there were hours of bouncing, rope swinging, swimming, and adventurous jumps into the pool under the giant shade trees out back. Though the firework show that started right as we pulled into our drive was less than appreciated by an overly-exhausted toddler, we look forward to repeating it all again next year.
